Submissions

The Commission wants to hear from anyone with information that is relevant to the Inquiry. This includes workers, employers, industry participants, and members of the public. You can share your story, documents, or other information.

All submissions are treated confidentially, and we take steps to protect your privacy.

The Commission may contact you if it needs more information. In some cases, the Commission can formally ask people to give evidence or provide documents, even if they have already made a submission.

The Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU is collecting your personal information, including your name, email, phone number, commentary and opinion on experience related to the impact of misconduct on productivity in the Queensland economy and the construction industry, housing in Queensland, and transport infrastructure with specific regard to the Bruce Highway, Gold Coast Light Rail, Cross River Rail and Centenary Bridge.

We are collecting your information to assist the Commission in fulfilling its Terms of Reference, including exploring evidence of, and allegations concerning:

  • Instances of misconduct making workplaces unsafe or uncomfortable for women.
  • The systemic nature of misconduct involving current and former leadership figures within the CFMEU.
  • The involvement of organised crime or other criminal elements or identities with the CFMEU and in the Construction Industry.
  • Irregularities in financial dealings by the CFMEU, including cash transfers and contracts.

We are authorised to collect this personal information for these purposes under section 4 of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1950 (Qld).

We will not use your personal information for any other purpose unless we are authorised or required under an Australian law, or a court or tribunal order to do so.
