Witness list for public hearings 18–20 August 2026

The Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and Misconduct in the Construction Industry will hold public hearings between Tuesday 18 August 2026 and Thursday 20 August 2026. Hearings will be held in Courtroom 17, Level 4, Brisbane Magistrates Court. It is anticipated that evidence will be heard from the following witnesses:

  • Jack Ryan - Deputy Regional Director, Metropolitan Region, Department of Transport and Main Roads
  • Chris Demartini - Executive Project Manager, SMEC Australia Pty Ltd
  • Rob Pickard - General Manager, Queensland and Northern Territory, BMD Constructions Pty Ltd
  • Gary Grant - Regional Construction Manager, BMD Constructions Pty Ltd
  • Quinn Murray - Project Manager (Centenary Bridge Project), Georgiou Group Pty Ltd
  • Gareth Davie - Corporate Construction Manager, Georgiou Group Pty Ltd
  • Steve Thomas - General Manager, Human Resources and Industrial Relations, BMD Group
  • Scott Power - Chief Executive Officer, BMD Group

It is envisaged that each hearing day will be conducted at the following times:

  • 10:00 am – 11:15 am
  • 11:30 am – 12:45 pm
  • 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
