Building and Construction Code: Counsel Assisting's further submissions and draft implementation guidelines
In March 2026, the Commission released its discussion paper examining the potential introduction of an amended Building and Construction Code in Queensland (Proposed Code).
The Commission has since sought public feedback and engaged in consultation with stakeholders in the building and construction industry regarding the development and implementation of a Proposed Code.
On 14 April 2026, Counsel Assisting the Commission made submissions in support of the implementation of a Proposed Code and the establishment of an Independent Regulator.

The Commission invites responses to the Submissions and Guidelines by 4pm Friday, 24 July 2026. Submissions in response can be provided to: legal@cfmeuinquiry.qld.gov.au
