Commission of Inquiry to hold public hearings in Cairns from 12-14 May 2026

The Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and Misconduct in the Construction Industry will hold public hearings in Cairns from Tuesday 12 May to Thursday 14 May 2026.

Hearings will examine matters relevant to Cairns and North Queensland, with evidence to be heard from local witnesses. A list of anticipated witnesses will be made available before the hearing week commences.

Members of the public may attend in person or follow proceedings live via the Commission’s website. Transcripts will be published online as they become available.

Workers, subcontractors, industry participants and local community members are encouraged to come forward with information relevant to the inquiry. Information will be treated in strict confidence unless stated otherwise.
