Public hearings 28-31 July 2026

The thirteenth week of public hearings for the Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and Misconduct in the Construction Industry was held at the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

The Commission heard evidence five witnesses including:

  • Julie Mitchell – Deputy Director-General Infrastructure Delivery Management at the Department of Transport and Main Roads
  • Timothy Ellis – Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager at JF Hull Holdings Pty Ltd
  • Leigh Hahn – Senior Project Manager at Georgiou Group Pty Ltd
  • Ben Weston – Project Safety Manager at BMD Constructions Pty Ltd
  • Geoffrey Watson SC who was recalled for the purposes of cross-examination
